FASP is for all families who value bilingual, multicultural, and international education. Our classes are taught in English and French and our families come from many different countries and speak over 20 different languages. Meet some of our FASP families here.

FASP accepts students in grades Preschool through Fifth Grade with no prior knowledge of French. Applicants in Grades Six through Eight are required to demonstrate French language proficiency before joining FASP. 

FASP offers language support in small groups focusing on the unique needs of each student for those who may need extra help in French or English.

Many FASP families speak a different language other than English and/or French at home. Multilingual families are welcome at FASP and enhance our commitment to diversity. Their children whose brains already process more than one language thrive in our bilingual learning environment.

FASP's caring educators are adept at navigating the complexities of learning both French and English in school and speaking another language or languages at home. FASP provides a safe and nurturing environment for all students and we share a deep respect for the diversity of all of our families.

FASP offers a bilingual program taught in French and in English that follows accredited curricula from both countries. 

Early Childhood Education at FASP begins in Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten, with a French immersion program with 85% of the instruction conducted in French, 15% in English. We believe that this approach allows students to quickly acquire vocabulary and syntax and allows students to practice speaking in French in a safe, supportive, and fun environment. 

In Grades One to Three, the curriculum is taught 65% in French and 35% in English. French Language arts, social studies, math, and physical education are taught in French. English language arts, math, STEM, visual arts, and music are taught in English. In Grade Three, science is both taught in French and English. 

By Grade 4, the French/English instruction ratio is 50% and remains at this level through the end of Middle School, ensuring that FASP students are fully bilingual upon graduation.

 In Grade 4, FASP students also begin to learn Spanish.

Homework is assigned daily or weekly in both English and French to support and reinforce concepts learned in the classroom. Students are not asked to learn new skills or lessons at home on their own. Homework help is also offered in our Extended Day Program after school.

Communication between parents and teachers is essential. If your child is struggling to complete homework independently, or spends too much time on homework, or forgets regularly to bring the appropriate material home, please let your teacher know.

The average class size at FASP is 14 students, and our student teacher ratio is 8:1. Smaller classes allow our teachers to provide the personalized attention to each student that is essential to a successful bilingual school environment. 

FASP accepts students into Preschool beginning at 30 months of age. 

For those who apply between September and February (for the following school year), admissions decisions are sent out at the beginning of March. For applications received in March or later, FASP offers rolling admissions throughout the year based on availability in each grades.

Yes, all students must be toilet trained to attend FASP.

Yes, nap time is included in the preschool and pre-K schedules, after lunch and recess.

Students may bring a lunch from home or order a hot or cold meal from our local restaurant partner. Read more.

FASP offers financial aid to qualified students based on a demonstrated financial need. For the 2023-24 school year, 21% of students benefit from financial assistance. Please note that the financial aid application is confidential and independent from the admissions process.

Preschool through 5th Grade – 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

6th Grade through 8th Grade – 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Before School Care is offered beginning at 7:45 a.m. (no additional charges apply). The Extended Day Program (Garderie) is offered from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. five days a week. Students may enroll in a variety of activities, as well as homework help.

Currently our local public school district does not provide bussing to/from FASP. NJ families may be eligible for reimbursement for transportation costs. Contact us for more details.
