Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten
An Exceptional Early Start
In Maternelle (the French name for Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten), we take joy in this important responsibility of educating your child. We believe that all children have the ability to be meaningfully engaged in the learning process when they are supported, encouraged, and appreciated. Our dual-language program stimulates a child's natural ability to learn new languages while encouraging young learners to explore, discover, and create in a comfortable bilingual and multicultural environment.
The FASP curriculum is designed to build a strong academic foundation while encouraging creativity and supporting a child's inquisitive nature. Through a nurturing approach, children develop their innate curiosity through a love of learning in a safe and secure environment.

Young children have a remarkable capacity to learn and to easily adopt and accept new ideas and perspectives. This makes early childhood an ideal time to learn a second language and gain the lifelong benefits a bilingual education provides. A FASP education challenges students to expand their comfort zones. This ensures that they are well-prepared to travel with the ability to adapt to change as they make their unique mark on our global society.
All our Maternelle teachers have an undergraduate degree and a teaching certificate, as a minimum. They all teach in their mother tongue and utilize a well-balanced combination of French and American teaching methods that encourage self-confidence, creativity, and mutual respect.
French and English teachers work together to reinforce skills and create a structured environment in which students are fully engaged in learning.
In addition to exemplary academics, FASP nurtures the physical, psychological and emotional health of our students through a range of health and wellness support services that enhance those important areas of wellbeing.
At FASP, your child’s world becomes bigger, more interesting, more challenging, and more connected than ever before!

Cuteness overload at the Kindergarten moving up ceremony! Congratulations to our youngest graduates headed into 1st Grade!
“The French American School of Princeton is an impressive school. It gives the children the best of both the French and the American education. Our 2 boys – 9 and 11 years old – have been attending the school since their youngest age and are totally bilingual. Not only are they happy kids and absolutely love their school, but they also benefit from an exceptional education program with high academic standards that are infused with strong values that encourage self-confidence. The educational faculty is exemplary in enhancing excellence while promoting curiosity, creativity, and mutual respect. The kindergarten, elementary, and middle schools are all exceptional. We highly trust this school and are so grateful for the way they prepare our children for their future.”
