Board of Trustees

The Governance of the French American School of Princeton is the responsibility of the Board of Trustees, consisting of volunteer individuals with related expertise. The functions of the Board focus on three areas critical to the success of the school:

Hiring, evaluation and support of the Head of School to whom they delegate the authority to manage all aspects of operations
Implementation of the school mission and development of institutional policies
Fiduciary responsibility

The Board of Trustees is not involved with the daily affairs of the school, including curriculum development, hiring, and evaluation of staff and faculty members. Parents with concerns about the school or with decisions made by the administration should communicate their concerns directly to the Head of School. The Board of Trustees does not act as a board of appeals.

Dr. Yeganeh Hayeri, Chair

Dr. Yeganeh (Yegi) Hayeri is the founder and principal of R2R Strategy Consultants, where she leads efforts in transforming domain-specific risks into resilience across the transportation, healthcare, finance, and education sectors. Blending her deep knowledge in engineering, economics, public policy, and behavioral decision-making, Over nearly 25 years, she has assisted public agencies, private companies, and startup clients in quantifying the impacts of disruptive events and technologies—such as natural disasters, pandemics, automation, AI, and blockchain—on intricate systems, fostering a shared understanding of risk while providing them with the tools and strategies to navigate complex challenges. In addition to her consulting work, Dr. Hayeri is a part-time faculty member in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Rutgers University.

Dr. Hayeri holds a dual Ph.D. in Engineering and Public Policy and Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. She earned her M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Civil & Environmental Engineering from the University of California - Berkeley, and the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, respectively. In 2019, the National Academies of Engineering recognized her as a US Frontier of Engineering. She holds certificates in "Management of Technology" and "Conflict Resolution".

Yeganeh Hayeri has served on the Board of Trustees since 2022.

Irene Mortensen, Vice-Chair

Irene Mortensen is Dean of Faculty at Gill St. Bernard’s School in Gladstone, NJ. A lifelong independent school educator, her first teaching positions were at Northfield Mount Hermon School, MA, and St. Croix Country Day School, USVI. In New Jersey, Irene taught for ten years at Princeton Day School and served for eight years as Director of Accreditation and Professional Development at the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS). In her current position, as part of the GSB leadership team, she works extensively to support the growth and professional learning of the faculty and staff. Irene is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences on a range of topics related to school leadership, curriculum, and school culture. She has also served on numerous accreditation teams for both NJAIS and the Middle States Association Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools.

Irene holds an undergraduate degree in English and Education from Vassar College, a MA from Teachers College, Columbia University in Private School Leadership, and a Certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education & Harvard Business School. Irene and her husband are the parents of two children who attended independent schools.

Irene joined the Board in 2024.

Mathieu Aussermeier, Treasurer

Mathieu Aussermeier is U.S. CFO, Head of Finance at Galderma, a global pharmaceutical, aesthetics and consumer leader solely dedicated to Dermatology and headquartered in Switzerland. In his role, Mathieu leads a fully integrated finance organization, driving strategic and financial planning, controlling, treasury operations, tax, insurance, procurement and IT.

Mathieu has over 20 years of diverse financial experience in the fields of audit, internal controls, treasury, financial planning & analysis, tax, and accounting. Prior to joining Galderma, Mathieu worked for Integra LifeSciences, a global leader in medical technologies and Bristol Myers Squibb, a leading global bio-pharma company. Across both organizations, he held finance leadership positions of increasing responsibility in the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Russia and France including Treasurer, Head of Investor Relations, Market/Regional CFO. Mathieu began his professional career at PwC in France and Germany.

Mathieu holds an MBA in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management and is fluent in four languages (French, German, English, and Spanish). Mathieu also lived and/or worked in Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa, and has traveled extensively.

He is active in his community as a board member and treasurer at his local church. Mathieu also served on the Bristol Myers Squibb Diversity and Inclusion Council during his tenure. Mathieu joined the FASP Board of Trustees in 2022.

Olivier Lachaud, Secretary

Olivier Lachaud is a strategic, high-energy executive striving for operational excellence and resilience. With over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry, Olivier has held leadership roles at Scotiabank, Deutsche Bank, and BNP Paribas where he orchestrated strategic transformations and ran several high-impact teams. A true cross-functional collaborator and integrator, he weaves data and technology into business solutions spearheading disciplined efforts to deliver on strategic goals. Adept at team leadership and talent development, he loves building new capabilities and shaping organizations.

Olivier currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Central Nantes Alumni association (400+ strong alumni in North America) and is involved with the Inter-Groupe network (2000+ alumni in North America for the network of the 4 Ecoles Centrale and Centrale/Supélec Engineering Schools).

Olivier holds Master of Science in General Engineering from Ecole Centrale Nantes (Nantes, France), a Mastère Spécialisé in Strategy and Management of International Business from ESSEC Business School (Cergy, France), a Certificate in International Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management (Phoenix, AZ, USA). He is certified as Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute (PMI) since 2008, and is fluent in English and French.

Dr. Nigel Brown, Trustee

Nigel Brown is CEO of Princeton Healthcare Advisory, a consulting organization supporting M&A, and corporate strategic planning needs for globally active healthcare companies. He is also a Partner at Trevi Health Capital, a NYC-based private equity group. Born in the UK, Nigel started his career as a scientist in the pharmaceutical industry (Pfizer, GlaxoSmithKline), before progressing to executive leadership roles at MDS, and then Covance. Nigel holds Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees from the University of Oxford, an MBA from the UK’s Open University, and currently serves as a Board Member for a number of schools, museums, and social services charities. He lives in the Princeton area with his daughter, Sofia, who currently attends High School.

Nigel Brown has served on the Board of trustees since 2019.

Arpan Narayan, Trustee

Arpan Narayan is a seasoned leader with over 17 years of experience driving organizational transformation across Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals, Technology, and Media industries. Known for his strategic insights, Arpan has partnered with C-suite executives to lead high-impact initiatives, including multi-million-dollar consulting engagements and cross-border integrations, resulting in enhanced innovation and measurable business performance.

Arpan’s expertise lies in leadership development, culture transformation, and human capital strategy. As the Global Head of Culture at KPMG International, he influenced 220,000 employees across 145 countries, spearheading initiatives that reinvigorated the organization’s purpose and drove ethical and high-performance cultures. At Coqual, Arpan led the consulting practice, scaling solutions to foster inclusion, talent growth, and sustainable business development for Fortune 500 clients.

Arpan holds degrees in Statistics and Economics from Columbia University and the London School of Economics. He regularly mentors aspiring leaders globally and brings his passion for cross-cultural collaboration and strategic growth to his role on the Board of Trustees at the French American School of Princeton, supporting its mission to nurture bilingual and bicultural education.

Bernadette Teeley, Trustee

Bernadette Teeley is Interim Dean of Faculty at The Lawrenceville School. A lifelong educator, she began her career teaching in private day schools in the Midwest before moving to New Jersey. At Lawrenceville, where she has taught English for nearly 14 years, Bernadette has served as Dean of Academics, Chair of the English Department, Head of House, and Varsity Coach. In her current position, as part of the Lawrenceville senior staff, she works extensively to build and retain an energized and expert faculty and to foster a vibrant academic community. Beyond her work on campus, Bernadette has advised leading organizations across healthcare, education, and finance sectors on workforce transformation and learning experience platforms. She is a Salzburg Global Fellow and has served as a Policy Research and Evaluation Consultant for Educational Testing Service (ETS).

Bernadette holds a B.A. in English from the University of Dayton, an M.A. in Higher and Post-Secondary Education from the University of Michigan, and a Strategic Leadership Certification from the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education.

Marie Danielle Vil-Young, Trustee

Founder and Creative Director of À Votre Service Events®, Marie Danielle Vil-Young is a proven leader, dynamic entrepreneur with over 16 years specialization in the luxury marketplace. Her company has been recognized by Harper’s Bazaar as one of the top event planners in the world and Top 50 Florists in North America by the prestigious Florists' Review. Marie Danielle has been quoted and featured in many media outlets including Forbes, HGTV, Discovery+, CBS, NBC, Wall Street Journal, Yahoo Finance, Fox Business, NY Post, New York Magazine, Martha Stewart, News12NJ, Ritz-Carlton Magazine to name a few. She has been a mentor to many and educator at Longwood Gardens, Princeton Adult School, and more.

Marie Danielle is a classically trained scientist. She holds a Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Biochemistry. Marie Danielle spent her early professional years working as a research scientist, cloning DNA, doing protein engineering work and developing antibodies against different types of cancers.

With her impressive scientific background, Marie Danielle leverages all her experiences – from corporate America to building her own sought-after brand that is well diversified to offer luxury event production, design, education and lifestyle with store location in the Mall at Short Hills offering curated goods for the home and office.

Marie Danielle joined the Board in 2023.
