Physical Education: Preschool - Grade 8

Maternelle (Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten)

Movement is an essential element of childhood development. In physical education class, students in Maternelle work on gross-motor skills and individual corporal expression through gymnastics, mime, or choreography. These activities promote developmental skill building with spatial awareness concepts, while engaged in collaborative activities in a team framework.

Grades 1 - 8

At FASP, our Physical Education program reinforces our school's core values: critical thinking, empathy, and self-confidence.

Our program is designed to provide students with a well-rounded experience through these key areas:

  • Motor skills and range of motion: Developing physical abilities and coordination
  • Artistic expression: Fostering creativity and self-expression through movement.
  • Group and individual competition: Encouraging teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

In a world dominated by screens, our rigorous program teaches students the importance of effort, perseverance, and personal excellence. Through physical activity, they develop healthy habits, a clear mind, and a sense of independence and citizenship, all while learning to cooperate and embrace new challenges.
Throughout the year, FASP hosts inter-level sporting events that bring students together in a spirited and festive atmosphere, allowing them to connect and grow as a community.

Ultimately, physical education at FASP is about more than just athletic performance. It's about developing confident, empathetic, and open-minded children who understand the critical role health and fitness play in their overall well-being.

Interscholastic Athletics: Grades 4 - 8

Our talented athletes can take their skills to the next level by participating in our interscholastic athletics program. Our co-ed soccer and basketball teams spend their seasons working on skill development and teamwork as the student athletes compete against other local independent and charter schools.
